About Ms. Alsu Gasimova

Currently Ms. Alsu Gasimova is a consultant (international legal adviser) for a roster of prestigious clients, including OAO Bashneft; GPB (JSC) Gazprombank; the Groupe BPCE; PKO BANK POLSKI PL WARSAW; Vodafone Group plc; GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK);  Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Crédit Agricole CIB); the China Baowu Steel Group Corp., Ltd.; Fujitsu Limited; LG Electronics Inc.; etc.

Alsu Gasimova is recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the field of international arbitration and is known as one of the highly regarded individuals in the field. She regularly sits as an arbitrator on various cases, under various sets of rules and subject to many different systems of law, particularly she conducted a large number of international arbitrations (both commercial and investor-state) and she is on several arbitrator panels. Alsu has a vast expertise in complex international arbitrations arising out of corporate transactions connected to Russia and the CIS. Ms. Alsu Gasimova’s clientele is located in all the continents and her clients have a global reach, while the primary areas of  Alsu’s practices concentrate on the matters that did arise in Russia, the EU and South East Asia. Her experience covers a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, metals and mining, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services and insurance, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Prior experience:

  • Served as a very respected prosecutor of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation  [growing to the position of a senior investigator for the specially important cases], later she held a number of executive positions in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation  [the Advisor-Assistant to the Head of the Federal Project on Security and Fight Against Corruption in the region];

  • after the prosecutorial work, Alsu was holding an important position in the Moscow Regional Court [the Court of Appeals for the Moscow Region];

  • after resignation from public work she moved to the private practice, primary advisement for international corporate clients.

Ms. Alsu Gasimova studied at the faculty of Legal Studies of the Kazan State University, she also holds a degree in History.

Alsu is the author of a number of publications in the field of international dispute resolution.
